Wayfarer Dinghy

Applications closed

Ashore in Bristol

The boat is a Wayfarer mk2 from the 1970s

Hull is fine with no evidence osmosis reported.

A number of structural elements were rotten and the current owner has removed them. This included a teak beam running athwartships under the mast step, the mast step itself, and one of the teak blocks that were glassed under the gun whales.  All these need to be replaced and glassed in. To access the teak beam and remove it thew owner has cut a hole in the water tight bulkhead forward, but there is a hatch ready to seal it.

The sole boards are rotten but are present, can be used to template new ones.

Mast, boom and steel rigging seem fine, halyards and sheets are questionable and need replacing.

Sails are a bit baggy and batten needs sewing back in on main sail.

The benches and oars are okay and look nice.

Blocks and cleats are a mixed bag with several needing replacing.

The trailer is decent but may need a new wheel soon, hub is a bit rusty.
