Ashore in Sandwich
Whilst she is in reasonable condition she is part way through a engine refurbishment (Cylinder heads off) which was being done by her current owner. However lack of time to complete the work, a number of other jobs which need doing and lots of mooring fee's force passing the boat over.
The engine is a Volvo Penta V6 4.3 GL, with a Volvo Leg, which has been adapted to carry counter rotating propellers. It has run approx’ 250 hours since the a rebuild in 2011. The trim tabs on the stern are hydraulic operated with full up/down motion.
The cylinder heads as part of refit have been fitted with hardened valve seats to cope with unleaded fuel.
Tiffin was last antifouled in 2016 (hard antifoul), but she has not been in the water since.
The leg was antifouled at that time but the weather has not been kind to it.
The picture of the instrument panel illustrates the grime which is pervading the cockpit are since the canopy had to be removed following winter damage 2 years ago.
Tiffin has the Icom VHF with DSC capability (linked to the GPS), a Garmin GPS unit, Garmin Echo sounder/fish finder, Magnetic Compass. The cabin has a two burner gas stove, there is a fridge in the cockpit which runs from the 12v supply. There are two batteries (Engine and Domestic), which are charged by the engine or 12v 30amp power supply when connected to domestic supply. The petrol tank has a capacity of 220 litres. There is a 25 litre fresh water tank (not drinking water) which supplies the sink and the sea toilet flush. She has an anchor (plough) with 3m of chain and 10m of rope. There are two bilge pumps (engine bay and cabin).
The cabin has internal wiring/sockets etc for shore power operation. Tiffin has a Ofcom Licence with allocated call sign and MMSI. She is also registered on the SSR.
In addition to the engine rebuild, some of the windows are needing an application of sealant.
The canopy needs work following damage in a gale during the winter.
