Ballerina 2 'Peggy M'

Now taken.

Peggy M is a 21ft 6ins Ballerina 2 sloop, built in the mid 60's by the Penryn Boat Company, Cornwall.

Currently ashore in Burton, Pembrokeshire.

She has fibreglass hill with triple keels. She comes with a main sail and 2 hanked on jibs in a fair working condition. Sail number 259. The boat takes a long shaft outboard, ideally 5 or 6hp (not included) which fits inside the well in the cockpit.

The owner has had it since November 2008 and he has now reached the age where he's finding the required annual maintenance increasingly difficult to keep up with.

New windows were fitted in 2021. It has a solar panel on the rear storage hatch that manages to keep the battery topped up. There's a fish finder which has seen better days but still works. The marine toilet was removed in 2009 and replaced with a porta potty. The anchor and chain is in a working condition. All sheets, halyards etc are in a working condition.

The hull itself is sound but over the years the bilge keels have lost thickness and the correct angle to the hull, especially on the starboard side.

The boat really needs a new tiller fitted to the rudder. It completely snapped off some years ago and when reattached it was slightly off square and the angle of it going forwards needs raising.

The other known problems are:
The rubbing strake and rear wood trimmings need renewing in places.
There are slight leaks in the cabin roof around where fittings are attached.
The marine radio has no signal which could be the radio being faulty or more likely a defective mast aerial.
The hull needs to be scraped clean of years of antifouling coats, as patches are now breaking off with new coats being applied on top of the old each year.
The hull was last painted in 2009 and could do with a new coat. Topsides have never been painted.
The condition of the mast rigging is not known and could likely need renewing.
The cabin inside is clean but has never been painted

Peggy M was last afloat in 2022 and since last November has been stored on blocks in a boatyard.
