UPD The boat has been taken
Almost new Beta engine, full set of sails and cushions, but lots of TLC :)
Ashore in West Mersea, Essex
Josette is a Seamaster Sailor 23 - details here https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/seamaster-sailer-23
She has been in the family since 1997 but has been sitting in a boat yard at West Mersea for approx 8 years and is in need of some work and TLC to bring her up to scratch but she is fundamentally sound. She had some water laying in her bilge for a while but all flooring and bulkheads are solid and sound but are in need of a good scrub and clean.
In 1997 her hull was professionally gel coat peeled and epoxy coated by Peter Clarke’s Boatyard, West Mersea, to address and prevent osmosis type blistering.
In 2002 following damage to her topsides when another yacht broke its moorings and collided with Josette on her own mooring, her topsides were professionally repaired and repainted.
In November 2007 she was fitted with a new Beta BZ482 diesel engine by AB Clarke and Son Marine Engineers of West Mersea. Since fitting, the engine has only had approx 15 hours run time.
She has a behind the mast in mast reefing system from TAB Sails and is easy to sail single handed. Sails have been stored at home and are in good condition.
She comes with no instrumentation or additional electronics other than a compass but has a hull mounted transducer ready for a depth sounder. She has a gas locker but no fitted stove - the current owner used a portable gas camping stove. 2 CQR anchors and assorted fenders. SL400 marine loo with Blakes seacock.
The attached pictures were taken in Feb 2023 (exterior) and March 2023 (Interior)
