Van de Stadt Offshore 8m 'Willow'

Free to a New Home

Ashore at SG16

It was bought in 2004. The owner sailed it from Pin Mill and then Shotley Marina on the river Orwell for a number of years.

Due to some of the internal woodwork being rotten,  the owner decided to strip everything out with the intention of refitting it with the help of an engineer friend.

The owner is now 75 years old and realises that he will be unable to give it the attention it deserves, combined with the fact that the owner is planning to move houses in the next few months, a decision needs to be made to rescue the boat.

1. Willow is seaworthy and the hull is sound with no known structural issues
2. The engine: a Yanmar 1GM10, will likely require attention. It was last run several years ago.  A new glass fibre fuel tank was put in.
3. It probably needs a complete re-wiring job
4. The electrics, solar panels and wind turbines no longer exist.
5. The mainsail from memory is in good condition.
6. The Genoa is good but the uv strip needs replacing.

The details of the project can be found at https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/offshore-8-meter/
(the boat at Sailboat Data page is this very same Willow :)
